ACashbook is a web based application that provides an on-line cashbook facility to clients. It is aimed at the small business that has simple accounting requirements.

A key feature of the application is the ability of the clients' accountant to enter the application to view the data, generate reports and perform other bookkeeping functions at any time. When it comes to "year end" the data is available to the accountant without the client needing to send disks or print outs to their accountant.

Additionally, the client does not have to install any software to use the system, and can access it from any internet enabled computer.

Client Interface

The design principle was to provide the minimum functions required by such clients, without any superfluous features. This makes for a clean, simple interface and allows the learning curve for the application to be very short. The pages have been designed for fast download, with very few graphics and no clutter.

The main functions provided are:

• Data entry
  Records are added into the system from receipts, payments and transfers. The system supports either VAT or non-VAT registered clients. Records are posted against a set of headings defined for that client.
• Bank reconciliation
  Reconciliation can be performed against bank or credit card statements.
• Report Generation
  A simple set of reports is available to view records by date, by heading or by account.
