Web site upgrade briefThe site had originally been designed and written by a graphic designer using a standard web site development tool, utilising text content provided by a professional marketing writer. The specialist requirements of this particular site warranted employing the expertise of technical web programmers to bring it fully into line with current accessibility and validation standards. Working with the existing site and graphics supplied, WyeTec were able to integrate a best-fit compromise whilst maintaining the overall look and feel of the site. The site user is provided with a choice of screen layouts for maximum visual accessibility, and shortcut keys (AccessKeys) were embedded into the web site code to offer the user alternative, mouse-free site navigation via a standard keyboard. Following implementation of this, the site was also carefully screened and modified to attain W3C compliance for both the web pages themselves and the style sheet used to manage them.
