A bespoke on-line data system for customer and product management
Working for a manufacturer supplying machinery and spare parts to process industries, WyeTec developed a bespoke customer,
sales and product management system to streamline operations.
Data cleansing for improved efficiency:
Our client held a large volume of valuable sales lead and customer information, but this data suffered from duplicates, obsolete
entries, and a plethora of data formats - a result of rapid expansion of the company and data originating from multiple sources.
A search for an off-the-shelf CRM system had failed to find one that fitted our client’s business model, and so they approached
WyeTec to commission a bespoke solution.
The client’s business operations were analysed one-by-one – manufacturing, machine sales, servicing & spare parts. For each operation
the ideal data to be captured and reported was identified, along with the current sources of data, and how they could be imported into a new system,
eradicating duplicate and obsolete entries in the process.
Flexibility through remote working :
A secure web-based application allowed for remote working by sales and field engineers, with a roles-based permissions system ensuring users
had access to the all data they needed, and none of the data they didn’t.
Amongst the many features included, sales personnel were able to create, track and close sales leads, field engineers were able
to access and update service records, check availability and costs of spare parts, and a new business operation was created
offering servicing and parts for competitor products.
The system was built on a Microsoft SQL Server database, with front-end design implemented in ASP.Net / VB.Net.
